Woof.

Me: Females who can work the internet are a sexy mystery to our male counterparts.
Rob: You work the internet pretty well, too. Like that dog that isn't just cool because it can bark the alphabet, but it can do it while skateboarding.
Rob: Anomalies like yourself represent the talking skateboarding dog population of the internet.

Rob is biking 150 miles for Multiple Sclerosis THIS WEEKEND

I have family members with MS, and I’m so appreciative of people like Rob, who take their time and energy to devote to a cause like this. Please sponsor if you can, or reblog his post for extra karma points.

rjdlc:

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but MS is a pretty nasty thing.  It starts as just a small neurological disorder and slowly progresses to a full blown physical and or neurological disability.  The real pain is that we don’t know enough about it to get a cure for it.  We know all about what happens when you’ve got it, but not why it happens.  Its near impossible to predict, and while someone with MS may have an attack now and then, in the meantime they’re living with permanent neurological damage.

Now that I’ve totally bummed you out, I’ve got good news.  You can help those trying to learn as much as possible about it to one day find a cure; to one day make it so no one has to find out that eventually, they wont be able to do the simple things most of us take for granted, like walking.

I’m riding my bike from Moraine State Park to Lake Eerie, a 150 mile trip with a bunch of other people to raise awareness and support for the cause, and I’m looking for sponsors.

Any donation, big or small is greatly appreciated.  Can’t sponsor me ?  No problem, just spread the word.

Super awesome bonus incentive!

Anyone who sponsors me and emails me with their address at robjdlc [at] gmail [dot] com gets a really cool thank you card, and virtual hugs and kisses.

So if you can, lend a couple bucks for a great cause.  Sponsor me here!

The ride is this weekend so I’m just giving this one last post.  Thanks to everyone who contributed!

Ace of Base - Beautiful Life

Ok, so I won’t post the lyrics to this one because it’s ridiculous. But someday, when it’s popular to like Ace of Bass against because they’re “so 1991”, I want everyone to remember I was the first on the bandwagon.

It’s summer. Listen to shitty, happy music and smile about it.

Only $29 Bill in the Bank

http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/dailyweekly/2009/06/gates_only_29_bill_in_the_...

The foundation paid out approximately $2.8 billion cash in grants and direct charitable activities, and that should increase to approximately $3.5 billion this year. Says Raikes: “It’s difficult for foundations to find fiscal balance when there are so many demands to be met.” Still, the foundation will, for example, spend tens of millions to help fund the final phase of malaria vaccine clinical trials, he says. “We think it’s worth it because we believe this malaria vaccine can save millions of lives.” Hear hear to that.

Even if Bill Gates is responsible for one of my least favorite companies, I believe him and Melinda deserve to be nominated for sainthood for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
