10 Things I Hate About You

Weak, whiny, woe-is-me type girls make me want to vomit. I hate the attention they get for being that way, I hate the energy it takes to be around them, I hate the impression they give the opposite sex about what being a woman is all about, and I really, really hate that they can’t do anything without a handout.

There have been times in my life when I could have qualified as this type of girl. It’s been a year today since I decided I wasn’t going to be one of them ever again. I decided I was going to make it further than anyone thought I could, with or without support. I decided to be a better person. A stronger person. A person I thought my little girl could look up to.

I have struggled this year. Fallen down. Gotten scraped. Been ashamed and exhausted. But I haven’t given up yet.

Here’s to another year of raising the bar for myself.

When the economy makes big news, many photographs of people at work come across the wires, usually to help illustrate a particular story or event. By collecting these disparate photos over the past few months, I found that a global portrait emerged of we humans producing things.
